Emilia Clarke Posts Heartfelt Message, Supporting Targaryen Queen’s Actions

With the final season of Game of Thrones finally over, GOT star Emilia Clarke posted a heartfelt message over social media about her role as Daenerys Targaryen. The show which first aired eight years ago has finally come to an end.

Clarke’s role went through a lot of changes throughout the show – from getting married against her will to the Dothraki Chief, Khal Drogo, and walking alive out of fire with three dragon babies, to raising an army of Dothraki and the Unsullied and helping to fight against the Army of the Dead and taking control over the King’s Landing.

Speaking of her entire journey of as the Targaryen Queen and rightful heir to Iron Throne, Emilia Clarke posted homage to her role on the social network, Instagram.

She wrote, “Finding the words to write this post has left me overwhelmed with how much I want to say but how small words feel in comparison to what this show and Dany have meant to me.

“The mother of dragons chapter has taken up the whole of my adult life. This woman has taken up the whole of my heart.”

“I’ve sweated in the blaze of dragon fire, shed many tears at those who left our family early, and wrung my brain dry trying to do Khaleesi and the masterful words, actions (and names) I was given, justice,” she added.

Emilia Clarke also gave clarification on the evolution of her role from the just and peaceful queen to the unforgiving and wrathful queen. She said that she suffered a lot in her journey from Essos to the Westeros. When in the final season, her only close friend Missandei is killed and Jon and Varys turn from her, she could not repossess her calm self and hence, went on to destroy the entire King’s Landing.

She said, “I stand by Daenerys. I stand by her! I can’t not.”

She also recently disclosed the news of suffering two brain aneurysms while shooting for the show, the latter being the one which almost killed her. She got the first aneurysm when she was just 24-years-old.

Her post was supported by many of her co-stars, colleagues and other actors. While John Bradley, aka GOT’s Samwell Tarly commented, “Beautiful”, film director Charlie McDowell said, “As you continue to fly, he flies beside you. Congratulations E.”

Though the show came to an end, the growth of Daenerys Targaryen aka Emilia Clarke was commendable and will forever be etched in the heart of her fans. However, it will be interesting to see the journey of Daenerys from her childhood to being married with Khal Drogo, if the directors of the show, come up with a show as great as the Game of Thrones.
