Predator Thronos: Acer’s Gaming Chair Raises the Bar
Yes, you read that right. Acer’s Predator Thronos is now available at an affordable price of $14,000 only. It is not JUST a gaming chair, it’s a THRONE.
The new Predator Thronos Air is a huge steel made structure that enables the gamers to experience unconventionality in all its glory. The gaming chair has three monitor screens (27 inches each) that can be manually raised and lowered with the help of a handle located below the middle monitor stand. It has an adjustable keyboard along with a mouse tray and a footrest.
To maintain the beast look of the chair, a cable management system has been installed to hide all the wires connecting things. Other accessories to ramp up its magic include a headset holder, camera and USB hubs. You can comfortably enjoy your tea or coffee while reclining in the chair now.
Acer calls the Throne as “a sleek gaming cave for the hard core enthusiasts”.
The original Thronos chair that was a huge hit in the previous IFA tech show, weighed 495-lb (224.5-kg). We are hoping that the addition of the word “Air” in the name refers to a lighter version of the previous one. The camera mount situated above the middle monitor helps the gamer in live sessions of Twitch or YouTube.
The latest addition to Predator Thronos is the massaging feature installed recently. The chair has two balls that move up and down, pressing into the gamer’s back. The user can switch on the massaging feature while gaming but Acer’s launch video says that the feature has been brought in to relax you after an intense gaming session. Also, Acer has put a seat stabilizer to restrict movement during intense gaming sessions.
It is estimated that the chair will be priced at an affordable low of $14,000 that is much cheaper than the previous versions.
Earlier announced at IFA 2018, the $30,000 Predator Thronos Chair has much more in store for you. The reclining chair can tilt up whole rig to 140 degrees. It will be available in North America, EMEA, and China by the fourth quarter of 2019. The cost of the chair will start at USD 13,999 in North America, EUR 8,975 in EMEA, and RMB 79,999 in China.
At the IFA press conference of 2019, Acer announced the Planet9 next generation eSports platform. As per Acer, Planet9 will begin as a coaching platform. It might eventually be expanded to include a wider gaming community with scrimmage matches and tournaments.
Ever since its launch in 2008, Acer’s brand Predator has had a growing market. It is competing with ace companies like Lenovo’s Legion, HP’s Omen, Dell’s Alienware and Asus’ Republic of Gamers (ROG).
