Saudi to Host A Star Studded Film Festival with Salman Khan 

The month for the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia is merry, as it celebrates the Sharqiah Season festival by hosting multiple events across the region. As a part of the Season, the fifth Saudi Film Festival to be held in Dhahran today, is expected to be quite grand.

This year, the event is being organized by the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts (SASCA) in partnership with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra). The Sunday celebrations will feature the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan as a chief guest.

Recently, the Indian actor made an announcement through a video message that he will visit Ithra on Sunday as a guest at ‘An Evening with the Stars’. “Hello Saudi Arabia, assalamu alaikum,” Khan said in the video. “See you at Ithra on the 24th of March, InshaAllah.”

The 53-year-old made his debut in the film industry in 1988, and has won several significant awards for his roles in multiple flicks. Blockbuster movies, including Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Ek Tha Tiger and Wanted, are some of his best known performances in Hindi cinema.

Khan has so far been starred in over 80 Hindi movies, while has produced over 30 under his production company– Salman Khan Films. At the event, he’ll highlight his lengthy career in Bollywood, as both a film actor and a producer.

It will be a cherry on the cake for people, when the Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. will mark his presence on Monday. He will take the stage to share his experience of 30 years as an actor. The American artist is recognized for his roles in Men of Honor, Radio and Jerry Maguire.

Gooding Jr. has showcased his work through more than 85 movies over the course of his career. Moreover, he won an Oscar for his role as Rod Tidwell in the 1996 film Jerry Maguire, as Best Supporting Actor.

The Sharqiah Season is the first of Saudi’s 11 seasons of entertainment, and will run until the end of the month. On Saturday, the first Color Run of the Eastern Province was held under the festival at the Alkhobar corniche. The 5-km marathon that began at 7 a.m. was participated by over 1,500 runners.

The month is full of activities for the Province, as over 83 events are expected to be held in nine cities.
